this novel is about a defeated nation. proud but defeated. Dominant people has taken history, tradition, and life from them. They struggle under them but on every corner it seems that people are happy to just be able to live. Dominant and defeated live together, but as masters and modern slaves. They can't reach any high position, be affluent, or carry weapon.religious and priests like any other imperial regimes have power and they are growing to do wrong and kill people with wrong charges andI loved this story. I really like Kaelen. The blood continues true in him and while he has a temper and some flaws in his character, I find them a lot more acceptable as an aspect of his youth and his strengths are impressive. My favourite character in this story however may actually be Grymauch - a man to match the mountains for sure. This book in the series has less of the warfare but the fighting is still captivating and the additional depth of characters make this story what it is - Shadder

It is a rare thing to find oneself emotionally attached to the characters on the printed page. We enjoy them, certainly. It was better than expected after the weak start of the book.I was disappointed after finding that the story of the third book, taking place 800 years after the original story.But after reading the first few chapters the book managed to keep me on my toes.Unfortunately the forth book of the series is not translated to Persian yet and i have to wait for a few more month to read the final book of the series.

I knew going in that this book was set a long time after the first 2 Rigante novels, but I enjoyed all of the callbacks to the first duology and would love to hear more about the further adventures of Bane.
