Chronicle In Favor Of Books Fire of Stars and Dragons (Stars and Souls #1)
A dragon's fire cannot be tamed. In 22nd century sovereign America, women should be seen and not heard. Unfortunately, twenty-one-year-old CAITRIONA HAYDEN didn't get that memo!
Determined to make her way in the world following the death of her uncle, being "seen" is the least of Cait's problems.
Someone's trying to kill her.
Ordained to guard and protect her, when Theo Pendragon claims Cait as his ward, he finds more than he expects as the flames of passion ignite within the dragon for the first time. But Theo is not alone in his desire, and he must learn to fight for what he wants, even if it costs him his best friend.
Dante, a powerful demigod and beloved friend to Theo, has spent centuries pursuing intellectual endeavors rather than indulging in the heat of desire. But everything changes when Cait arouses an attraction he cannot deny.
But Dante isn't the only one with a vested interest in Cait's future.
America's monarch, an ancient vampire named Corrin, puts no stock in the frivolity of love, and yet a proper queen would boost his approval rating amongst the people. Marrying Cait could hold the key to his survival.
Now, love, desire and need force Cait into an impossible situation with dire consequences.
Soon, Cait goes from studying for college exams to fighting for a future she never knew she wanted with a man she never imagined she could love. But the key to her future is held in the one secret she has yet to uncover.

http://badbirdreads.com/review-fire-s... At A Glance Fire of Stars and Dragons was up and down for me. The Good Yay, dragonshifters! I can't resist a dragon book. I don't even know why. I think they are the most exotic of the supernatural creatures in books nowadays. Melissa did a great job of creating fun and interesting dragonshifters. I loved how unique each one felt. As Cait's group of loyal dragonshifters started to increase, we got to see so many different personalities and quirks. CaitAs one of the beta readers for this book, I am so excited to see the release date draw near! Melissa has an excellent story unfolding here in the first of a three book series. Her ability to take paranormal beings and weave them into the human world is so convincing that I am beginning to wonder when I see an extremely "hot" guy whether he just might have some dragon blood in him. Let me assure you, if you like steamy heroes, Theo will set your soul on fire! Intrigue, romance, fantasy...this
I dont think I can express just how much I loved this book! The cover is what got my interest at first. Its just TOO pretty to ignore. I love fantasy novels! Like, LOVE! But I usually prefer a more historical-type or otherworldly setting. What shocked me about this book is that, while its set in a futuristic sovereign America, the novel had an almost historical feel. The world in which Ms. Petreshock has created is a society full of archaic social conventions, where women have little to no

To be clear, this is NOT YA. FIRE OF STARS AND DRAGONS is written for a mature teen/adult audience and contains scenes unsuitable for younger readers. Cait is not a naive or innocent heroine, so things get steamy and rather explicit in a few scenes. (My youngest beta team member is a mature 16.)This is a multi-POV book where readers are immediately immersed in the fantasy world without frontloaded world-building. Expect the world to be explained over the course of the book through the eyes of
I have been looking forward to reading this for a VERY long time, and I was definitely not disappointed! Petreshock has designed a really interesting world, with some great characters, that drew me in and kept me up very late at night. I loved the detail when it came to describing the dragons and their hierarchy, as well as the world in general. It was seriously fascinating. Also, the book gave a whole new meaning to, well, 'how to train your dragon.' Hehe! There was some serious heat to this,
As a member of the beta team, Ive already read this book several times and cant wait to read it again. The story is amazing, but its the key characters that will draw you in from the beginning and keep you coming back for more. Cait is a feisty heroine that you can both relate to and admire even as she navigates incredibly unique circumstances. The supernatural men (demigod, vampires, and DRAGONS!) are all complex and each brings something different to the story. I highly recommend checking out
FIVE STARS all the way. I mean look at that cover. How can a book with a cover THAT gorgeous NOT be amazing? I wasn't disappointed. First off, Melissa has a way with men. I love a good alpha hero and wasn't disappointed with not one, not two, but three alphas. Honestly, there were even more than that, but the story revolves around the three main alphas. Who wouldn't love to be fought over by three ridiculously gorgeous alpha males??The pace was perfect and I was pleased with how Melissa
